Saturday Joe took the girls to visit family in Concord. They stayed all day and grilled out with Jenn and Gary and the crew. The girls love playing with Abbey. Abbey is 3 months older than Emma and the three girls get along so well. I stayed home and had an exciting afternoon of cleaning the house, shampooing the carpets and sewing and painting bags. I also took care of Catherine and Rodney's dogs for them while they worked. Finley (their white scottish terrier) (Plato is a black scottie and they are both cutie pies.) is a wild one and when I let them out to go potty he started barking crazily at the neighbors behind their house. I was embarrassed. He wouldn't stop and I had to go drag him in by his collar. He did not get a treat that visit! After I finished my housework I caught up on an ER episode I had recorded and enjoyed some "peace and quiet" as Emma calls it. When I tell her that I missed her while she was preschool, she always tells me, "Well at least you got some peace and quiet and got a lot of work done."
Today we went to church and then went to MeMaw's house for lunch and garden time. MeMaw and the girls planted a garden today. The girls are going to help MeMaw tend to the garden this summer on their vacation. They had so much fun. Especially Emma, she never tired of helping. She worked from the start to the finish, digging holes, putting in the fertilizer, plopping in the plant and covering it up. Both girls love gardening and the Easter Bunny brought them some new garden tools and gloves for Easter. Here are some pictures of our garden.
The tree branches are from Faith True's element kit Spring Branches. The template is template number ten found at http://www.mandagirl.com/. The papers and alphabet are from the Rootbeer float kit found at www.scrapbookbytes.com. The watering tin is from A Spring Garden kit by http://www.angelasharrow.com/.A few nights ago the girls raced their motorized cars in the cul-de-sac with the neighborhood kids. It was fun watching them speed up and down the road, laughing and smiling the entire time! Here's a scrapbook page I made of their NASCAR debut. It's not a fancy page, but I wanted something bright and kid-like. I'm not completely satisfied with it, but this is the rough draft!
I altered the template a little but it is from a great set of layered templates by SheliaRae and I found it at www.scrapbook-bytes.com. The kit is the Colors of Spring kit also available at www.scrapbook-bytes.com. This page does not do the kit justice. It is a beautiful kit.
