Friends, Spring Cleaning and Picnics

We've been very busy the past few days. On Thursday, our friend Isabella spent the day with us because she was on spring break and her parents were both working. She was our neighbor before she moved to Charlotte and she and Hannah were in the same kindergarten class. Hannah had to go to school that day, so I didn't tell her Isabella was coming to spend the day. I knew she would be sad that she had to go to school. So Emma, Isabella and I went and picked up Chick-fil-a and suprised Hannah at school for lunch. It was a beautiful day and we ate outside. We let Hannah come home with us after lunch so she could spend the rest of the day with Isabella. We ate lunch outside, played outside all day and ate dinner at the park outside. It was such a gorgeous day! These pictures were taken outside after we finished lunch.

Here are some pictures of the girls planting flowers that afternoon. Of course we have two of everything, but not three so there were some tiffs about who got to wear the gardening gloves, who got to use the tools etc. but overall, they had fun and compromised. Emma was assigned watering can duty because she loves to water. She loves watering herself more than the flowers! She has already asked if we can get the slip and slide out. She doesn't realize that 70 degree days aren't warm enough for water play!

Thursday evening before my weekly Bible study, we met our friends Tracy and Mike and their son Trent at the park for Subway and play. It was a great ending to the day. You can't ask for a better day, sunshine, Chick-fil-a for lunch, subway for dinner and Starbucks coffee for Bible Study! Here are some pictures of the kids playing.

Friday Emma had a Teddy Bear Tea Party at school. She was supposed to bring her teddy bear and dress up for the tea party. Here she is with her bear. It is a bear from Build-A-Bear and she is dressed to the nines. She has on her shoes, panties, skirt, top, purse, hairbows and yes, a wig! What will Build-A-Bear market next? (If you ask me, the bear looks a little scary with the wig!) Emma was in charge of the PBJ's for the party. How fitting that the Queen of PBJ should be asked to bring them to the party! We cut out the bread with a teddy bear cookie cutter and they were so cute! (Thanks to Auntie Catherine for that great idea)

While the girls were at school my sweet sister, Catherine helped me do some spring cleaning of my house. We cleaned out closets and the pantry and got new rubbermaids to organize all of our junk. We went to Target and bought a few new things for the house. We bought a new comforter set for the spare bedroom. At first I thought it was a bit too flashy but once we made the bed and set up the room, it grew on me. We bought a slip cover for my grandfather's old yellow chair, to try to give it an updated look, but it is too big. I'm going to look at Kohl's to see if they have a smaller chair size. We also got a new bookcase for the girls' room to help organize their stuff and I bought a small organizer for my bathroom. I'm going to have to move Emma's name above the bookcase or take out the Webkinz in the basket. There room doesn't have a lot of empty wall space, so it may stay where it is and the Webkinz may find a new home this week. Here are pics of our new things.

(New pink bins to hold some of their toys in the closet) (We also put their pink cubbies at the bottom of the closet with all of their dress up clothes. ) Their closet is maxed out now!

Today we finished cleaning out the house and organizing the garage. The girls are asleep and Joe and I are about to watch a movie and relax. It's been a busy weekend so far. Emma sings at the church where she attends preschool tomorrow, so we are going there to hear the preschool children sing. I got another large order via fax yesterday, so next week will be another busy one, but it sure feels good having most of the house cleaned out. I haven't tackeled the playroom and office yet, but maybe next weekend!
