Here is the picture of the girls with Mike and Cindy. They were so sweet to the girls. Hannah has been fond of Mike since he we stayed with him on a trip down to Columbia two years ago. He and Cindy both were super sweet to them and so loving. They will make the best parents.
When Hannah was little Joe and Mike worked together in offices side by side. When we would go to visit Joe for lunch she would walk into the admin building and sometimes see Mike before she saw Joe. She would start to run up to him because she thought it was Joe, but as she got closer she would realize it wasn't her daddy and it would scare her and she would cry and run away.
The girls couldn't get enough of Mike and Cindy. They gave them a tour of the house, showed off all of their Build-A-Bear animals, did a gymnastics show in the front yard for them, and when I rescued Cindy from the playroom, they were giving her a historical narrative of our bunny's life and pulling every bunny accessory out of the basket showing her the food, the treats, the pooper scooper, etc. They wanted her to know everything about them and what was important to them. It was sweet so see how enamored they were with "the guests" as Emma kept referring to them!
Here is the ice cream recipe from last night. It was so yummy. It is for an electic ice cream maker. I have the Cuisinart Automatic Ice Cream Maker in red, like the one below. It is fabulous. My mom also gave me these cute footed ice cream bowls from Crate and Barrel that you can see here.
I was so excited. I almost sat and typed out the recipe, but then I realized since it was from Southern Living, it might already be typed up online. So I searched for it, found it and copied it below and didn't have to retype it!
This recipe was submitted to Southern Living by a mother of two, she won $100,000 in their recipe contest.

Note: If ice cream is too thin and runny after freezing, transfer mixture to an airtight container, and freeze 1 to 2 hours or to desired consistency.
Warm Peanut Butter Sauce:
Makes 11/2 cups (I don't know what 11/2 is, but it makes plenty for the above recipe. I doubled both the ice cream and the sauce, and I probably didn't need to double the sauce. We had a ton left over.)
Prep: 10 minutes; cook: 5 minutes
1 cup Domino Granulated Sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons Creamy USA-Grown Peanut Butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1. Stir together first 4 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until thickened and sugar is dissolved. Stir in peanut but-ter until smooth. Remove from heat, andstir in vanilla. Whisk before serving.

Oh, I can't wait to try this. I guess it's a good excuse to get a ice cream maker!
I love the ice cream bowls from your mom too!
