We had a great day today, but most of it was split up with each of us doing separate things until dinner tonight. This morning Joe went bowling (Tomorrow is the last night of his bowling league, so he needed to practice up for the season finale!) While he bowled the girls and I met Mom at a flower shop that we often visit. It is half way between our two houses. MeMaw bought the girls a pink hanging basket of impatients to go on the Shepherds hook under their cherry tree. Hannah wanted it for the porch, but with a red front door we can't do pink flowers. AShe figured out a way to get it though, by recommending that it go on the hook under her tree. She is a smart cookie. She thought about a spot for it and realized that was in the backyard and wouldn't be near the front door. She is in charge of remembering to water it, since it is away from the rest of the flowers!
MeMaw also bought us a pretty red geranium for the porch. I bought four gorgeous peony plants. Peonies are my all time favorite flower. Mom had them in her garden at our old house in the country and I loved them as a little
After we worked in the yard, Hannah and I went to her friend's birthday party at the Children's Museum in Winston Salem. Joe and Emma got to stay home and go to Lowes and play princess monopoly! We all met back together after the party and went to dinner at the Loop. The girls came home from dinner, put on their pjs and climbed in our bed to watch their all time favorite movie.....Elf! Yes, the Christmas movie with Will Ferrell has been the most watched dvd in our house since our friends Mike and Tray gave it to us two Christmas's ago. They laugh hysterically each time they watch it and they've probably watched it 10 times at least! I can't remember which girl yelled this down the hall, but one of them made this disclaimer before the movie started, "If you hear someone burp, it's not us, it's Elf!" Then I heard hysterical laughing coming from my bedroom.
Okay, here are some funny things the girls said to me today. I had told the girls that Jesus had heard their prayer for MeMaw's leg because it had felt so much better yesterday after they had prayed for her the night before. Emma chimes in, "I'm glad MeMaw is feeling good. You know, even when her leg hurts, she's still pretty fast for a grandma!" "If she moves slow it's just because she is a grandma and I think she is a fast grandma!"
Hannah caught a caterpillar at the garden shop and decided to bring it home with her. She was investigating it on the way home and held it up close to her face to study it. She informed us that she could see the "suction cups" on the bottom of the caterpillar's feet, that allowed it to climb trees.
Tonight we went to The Loop for pizza and Emma started dancing in the booth, swaying and pointing her fingers and doing some 70's dance moves to the music in the restaurant. She then blurts out, "I can really break it down!" Who's child is she? She keeps us laughing all the time.
Here are some pictures of Hannah at the museum today. She had so much fun. They have a child size Food Lion where they can shop and fill their carts with really cool play food and then check themselves out and bag their groceries. They also have a kid-sized Krispy Kreme where they can make donuts. It was too cute watching them in their aprons as they worked diligently to make their donuts. It is a great museum and we will definitely be going back with Emma. Well, I hear Elf coming to a close, so I better upload these pics and shuffle the little elves into their beds.
