Yes, in this first picture Emma is playing basketball...the lazy girl's version!
And no, we aren't having a heat wave here in NC...I picked this dress up for Emma at Wal-Mart this weekend b/c it was only $4.88. When I had her try it on, she wouldn't take it off....Emma and her dresses and skirts!

The house has been quiet for nearly three hours now. Joe bowls on Sunday nights with my Uncle Huig in Greensboro. He left around 7:00 and I promptly put the girls to sleep. They usually go down around 7:30 or 7:45, but since they had been up late nearly every night during spring break, I thought they could use the extra sleep. Emma was asleep before we finished our prayers and Hannah was asleep by 7:30. She is a catbird. She has NEVER been a sleeper. Even as an infant I was lucky if she took one 45 minute nap in the morning and a one hour nap in the afternoon. She gets up every day by 6:15 or 6:30 even on the weekends :( and she NEVER falls asleep during the day. You can put her in bed with you in the middle of the afternoon to watch a movie and Emma and I will both fall asleep before the movie is half over, but Hannah watches it from PLAY until the last credit rolls! This morning we went to the late service at church, because I had a luncheon at church after 2nd service, so the girls got up before Joe and I and helped themselves to some breakfast which consisted of Girl Scout Thin Mints, Scooby Doo Gummie Fruits and peanut butter from the jar! Don't tell anyone that...it sounds like we are horrible parents!! Emma comes in the bedroom this morning and wakes me up and asks if she can have some marshmellows...I reply, with "no, you have to have breakfast and marshmellows are not appropriate for breakfast." She then replies, "It's okay Momma, I've already had breakfast. I had those black cookies and Scooby Doo Gummies!" Tomorrow they will be served oatmeal, fresh fruit and whole grain toast for breakfast...I promise!
