Last night we had movie night with the girls. Joe popped popcorn and we watched a silly Disney movie called Dadnapped. We took this picture of the kids during the movie.
This morning the girls let us sleep in and they got up and entertained themselves for an hour or more before we got up. The price we paid for this luxury was awaking to find our dining room table covered in playdough.
As bad as it looked, they actually played with it until after lunch. They have never entertained themselves with one activity for that long. They got up at 6:00 and they were still playing with it at 1:30 when Carter and I left to run to the Farmer's Market. They had so much fun. They brought their play kitchen into the dining room and created their own restaurant complete with playdough food.
As I was leaving for the Farmer's Market our middle school neighbors, Summer and Kassidy, came over to play with the girls. They are so sweet to them, especially Summer. She played all day with them and stayed for dinner and well into the evening. She is a big help, because she helps them clean up their messes and she keeps them occupied all day. Trent came over to play tonight while Tracy and Mike celebrated Mike's birthday by going out to dinner. The girls love Trent so much. He had so much fun chasing the girls, doing artwork, bowling and reading books. I could eat him with a spoon he is so sweet. We've had a great weekend just hanging out at the house and hoping for a big snowfall tomorrow! Hannah read about an old wives tale at school that says to put spoons under your pillow to wish for snow, so every spoon we own has been tucked neatly under their pillows in hopes that a snowfall will soon be here!

What precious pictures. Carter looks like he was laughing out loud! MeMaw is going to find some spoons!
So funny (about the spoons!) I love Carter's expression on movie night! Who cares what the house looked like if you didn't have to get up at 6 right? :)
Precious Carter! How cute! I can tell he loves his big sisters!
This reminds me of one time when Beth was about 3 months old and I took all 3 kids over to Aunt Bobbies and kept Eddie, Michael, and Matthew while Bobbie and Uncle Eddie went to Hawaii for a week. One morning, Eddie and Anna wanted to surprise me by making breakfast for everyone. They got up really early and were making quite a bit of noise in the kitchen, but trying not to, and whispering really loud. I lay in bed for about an hour listening to them. They made bacon, scrambled eggs and toast. Even though I knew the kitchen would likely be a huge mess, I was still enjoying just lying in bed. When they called me to the kitchen, the table was set beautifully and not a mess, or a bowl or frypan in sight! As I helped them with the dishes later, I found them....they had piled all the prep dishes on the front porch.
Love the pics and the stories! Did the spoon trick work? If not, send Emma here....we woke up to about 2" of snow this morning.
oh gosh what a mess!!
and i like my moms story--for once it wasnt me who made a mess! i'm sure i made up for it though by spitting on her later that day ;)
