1. Small party at her preschool during snack time on the 19th.
2. Our Family of five party on her actual birthday, Thursday the 19th.
3. Friend party at the Children's Museum on Saturday.
4. Extended Family party on Sunday.
Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the Birthday Princess. It is hard to believe that she is five years old. I remember when she looked like Carter and it doesn't seem like five years ago that I held her in my arms as a tiny infant.
Here are a few of my favorite things about Emma:
1. She loves to sing. She sings all the time. She makes up her own songs and sings songs she has learned at preschool and church. She sings to Carter when he is sad and she sings for joy when she is happy. Her voice is angelic and it is precious to hear her sing praise songs to Jesus.
2. She is FUNNY! She has always been the child that says funny things and she doesn't mean to. She doesn't crack jokes, she simply says things from her perspective that turn out being so cute. The night before her birthday she said, "I'm going to bed now and while I sleep I will grow. I will grow bigger and turn into a five year old. Goodnight now. Soon my body will grow and I'll wake up big." (She literally thought there would be a physical change in her body overnight as she "grew" into a five year old.) She is just plain cute!
3. She tends to be very selfless. She loves sharing and most of the time, she is very, very giving to Hannah. She shares her new toys with Hannah and never complains. She is very giving and loves to make others happy.
4. She is very girly. She loves to dress up. She loves shopping. She loves new shoes. She has to have things her way (Like wearing a headband EVERY day!) but in her own style, she loves being girly and frilly. She wanted to wear a dress to the children's museum for her party. She stated, "The birthday girl gets to wear a dress on her birthday." I convinced her to wear jeans with her Birthday Princess shirt so she could run and play more comfortably, but she would have loved a dress for her party. (Notice she decided to wear her Birthday Princess shirt to all of her birthday celebrations...so it is in ALL of the pictures!) Hence, it has to be her way...but it usually turns out cute any way!
5. Pure and simple...she is a sweet, sweet girl. She loves everyone. She is well-liked by her friends and their parents. People like being around Emma. She is sweet, funny and loves Jesus. I couldn't ask for a sweeter five year old.

she some how got cuter. i don't see how that's even possible. she is FIVE? how can that be?! just yesterday i was rocking her to sleep as a 3 month old!
i have so many memories shooting through my head right now, i could effortlessly list 100. some of my favorites:
--babysitting her at cat's when yall took hannah to the circus. emma fell asleep in my arms and it was so precious i just held her until she woke up, i didnt have the heart to lay her down for a proper nap!
--at the beach a few summers ago it was raining for a couple hours so we all stayed inside and emma and i curled up on the couch and watched Cinderella and she felt asleep as we cuddled.
--at the nursing home 2 christmas' ago, we were in the atrium and emma goes over to that phone with the huge square buttons and starts dialing a random number as she says "im calling baby jesus...gotta tell him what to bring me for christmas!"
i could go on and on : ) i love her so so much!
Love the new look of the blog! Carter's got equal billing now! Love the pics of Emma and especially the pose with the handknits! I absolutely loved making those for my little sweetie pie!

That is so sweet! Those are my favorite things about Emma too! I also love how good she is with Trent. She is very selfless and will always give him everything she has! I can't believe she is 5! The time goes too fast!
