Thursday Morning Update: UPDATED

UPDATE:
Carter ate 50 ccs at 2:00 today and at 4:00 he was already hungry again and ate 60 ccs. That is his biggest feeding yet! We are very hopeful that he will come home tomorrow!

UPDATE:
Carter will not come home today. The surgeon was on the fence about whether to release him today or not and when he calculated his caloric intake for the past 24 hours it wasn't enough. Whatever formula he used, Carter's number was in the 70's and he wanted him to be around 100. He thinks he'll be able to come home tomorrow. So, keep praying. I'm really tired of the disappointment. He seems to be doing so good but still falling short each day. Joe's mom, grandmother and sister are coming tomorrow from PA. Please pray that Carter is released tomorrow so we can spend time with everyone at home and not in the hospital.

Carter ate 50ccs of milk at every feeding last night. Whoo Hoo! It isn't the 70 ccs that they are striving for, but it's better than the 20's and 30's he was periodically pulling. We're not sure if they will discharge him today with the 50, but we're hopeful. Joe is at the hospital now waiting to see the surgeon to find out his decision. Thank you for praying for us. Carter gets healthier every day. He pooped yesterday and today without any medication. In fact, he pooped all over Joe this morning when he was changing his diaper. He managed to get Joe, his outfit, his blanket, his crib and the floor covered in poop! I wish I'd been there to see Joe's expression! Please pray that today is D day! (Discharge Day)

As you can see, I'm pretty tired of being in this hospital! Please pray I can come home today!

Little Carter....we are praying for you and trust that you will be home this weekend. You were able to be home for the Super Bowl so now I'm praying that you'll be home for the next big sporting event - the Daytona 500!
