The girls will be home in about 15 minutes ready to start spring break. It dawned on me 15 minutes ago that I should have planned a special afternoon snack for the beginning of spring break. While some moms can whip up treats such as these:

or these

I only had 30 minutes to come up with something using the things in my pantry. So, as pathetic as these look, the girls will think it is fun! I found nutter butters, jelly beans, Easter licorice and hard round candies (leftover from our gingerbread house at Christmas!) It’s dicey I know, but these candies probably have enough dyes and chemicals in them that they’re as fresh as the day we bought them. Call the mom police, I know it’s horrible to let them ingest these, but they are only using four little candies for the eyes.
So, here are our make-shift bunny cookies. I didn’t have any frosting to stick the candies on with, so we’re using cream cheese!
Happy Spring Break!
(Sorry for the bad framing of this shot. I had my close up lens on and I was too lazy to run to the office to get a better lens.)

I would choose your cookie over all the other prissy cookies. Nutter Butters make a darling bunny. Happy Easter grandchildren and daughter!
I hope my kids never realize what they've been missing out on all these years due to my lack of creativity and imagination! Never in a million years would I have thought to make them a special treat for the start of spring break! Your kids are blessed!
I agree with your aunt Sue! My poor kids. Hopefully they will never know any better! Your children are BLESSED!
What a great mom! I wouldn't even have thought about making a special snack!
umm can I pretend I'm on spring break and come get one? They are so cute!
Despite your protests, I think you are a super creative mom. those other cookie makers don't have anything on you!
