Tracy had a cute idea last weekend. We let the kids decorate eggs to look like Chicks then we filled them with soil and grass seed. In a few weeks we’ll have Chia Chicks! The girls liked decorating them and planting the grass seeds. Poor Hannah. Hers are not as cute as they could be because she has to use her left hand. I promised her next year we would do it again so she could make some Chic Chia Chicks! I helped her draw some of the faces and she colored in the beaks the best she could as a temporary lefty! Emma did a few upside down faces on purpose. She said those chicks are going to be doing headstands! She’s always the comedian. The girls were excited this morning when they saw that some of the seeds are beginning to sprout. If you do this craft, I would dye them yellow first, but wait until after you put in the soil and seeds before you draw the faces on. I didn’t know which way would be best. But after dumping soil on the outsides of the shells and watering them, and having to clean up the outsides a little bit, some of the permanent marker faded and even smeared a little on some. So, draw faces after you clean them up and after the soil is in. That would be hard for kids though. They might dump out the soil and seeds while drawing. So, they will need help holding them upright. It was a lot of fun and we can’t wait to give our chia chicks their first hair cut!

So fun! We are having a tea party this weekend. That would be a fun craft! If not I'd like to do this with Landree. She'd love it!
Cute Pictures! I was just telling Josh how sweet and patient the girls are with Charlotte. Today she was looking at your backyard during lunch and asking me "where's Hannah and Emma?" :D
