Our Labor Day Weekend

Joe got to enjoy a four day weekend, as he had Friday and Monday both off. We started the weekend off by taking the girls to the park as soon as school got out. We headed over to Espresso Doctors for two Bubblegum shaved ice treats for the girls. Emma has termed it our dive thru coffee shack. It is literally an outdoor building in a parking lot that serves organic coffees with all organic ingredients and to make it fun for kids, they have fabulous shaved ice. We've only recently discovered it, but the girls love the shaved ice and they are cheap. Joe and I passed on a treat this time but the girls enjoyed their icees at the park. We made a quick trip to Target to look for shoes and a movie and the girls ended up picking Hotel for Dogs. They had earned a treat for doing carpool last week, so they picked out a new movie.

Saturday we took them to the skating rink for a few hours, ate lunch at CiCi's pizza (Hannah had earned a free lunch for doing something good at school, but she couldn't remember what!) and continued our quest for another pair of school shoes for Emma. We found some shoes and watched Hotel for Dogs, Saturday night.

On Sunday we visited with Mom and Catherine and Rodney and ate a fabulous lunch at Mom's. Sunday night we played the Wii.

Today I ran a few errands with Catherine while Joe took the kids to the park and to Chick-fil-a for a free sandwich. They all dressed in their Steelers attire and got a free sandwich. Catherine and I got a few Christmas presents purchased using some great coupons and then we came home and took the girls to the Farmer's Market with us. After the Farmer's Market the kids played outside while I cooked Carter some sweet potatoes and froze them. Then, tonight we cooked out at Catherine and Rodney's and Catherine made the BEST coconut ice cream in the world! Delicious! It was a fabulous weekend. In between all the outings we got the yard mowed, the house cleaned and the laundry done. So, I feel great about starting the week with much accomplished and it is like icing on the cake after having such a great time with the family this weekend.

Trying to get the perfect picture of all three kids together wasn't easy!

But it was worth the 40+ poses/giggles/squirms/snickers/pictures it took this afternoon to capture this one!

Sounds like a great weekend! I love the shirts the girls are wearing. At first I thought it was a pumpkin. You should make some with orange polka dot for fall!
