Ice Skating

Catherine came up with the idea of going ice skating last Saturday night. The girls were thrilled! Me...not so much! I stink, but they had never been so we all went to dinner and then to the skating rink. Luckily, none of the adults fell down and we all had a great time! The girls think they are professionals now and on their way to being figure skaters. By the end of the night they were holding hands skating and skating without hanging onto the wall. We were so proud of them! It just proves you can't teach an old dog new tricks! It hurt my ankles too much, but the girls flew around there like they had been doing it for months...not just that one night!

Emma showing off her 50 year old skates. Seriously,I think MeMaw might have learned to skate in these same skates. They looked really old-fashioned!

"Joe, take a picture of us while I still have two functioning legs..you know, just in case I fall and break them both during my first lap around."

Here we go...

After a lap or two Emma decided she needed some assistance and she broke out the "snow mobile" as she referred to it. Her legs went 90 mph as she scooted around with this thing. I thought I might wet my pants I laughed so hard. It was hysterical. It was like she was doggie paddling on the ice! She looked like Scooby Doo when he tries to run from a villian and is running in place but getting no where!

Before long she ditched the snow mobile and made laps around by herself barely holding on to the wall! She would stop in front of us and wave at Carter and make him laugh!

Hannah was so proud of herself. She was
beaming with pride and joy over being able to ice skate on her very fist visit! It was hard to get clear pictures because of the dim lighting and the plexi glass that surrounded the rink!

Success!

Jenna will be so jealous when she finds out the girls went ice skating. She's been bugging me for years to take her.
