Funny Stories from our Week

Hannah carries a travel size bottle of Hand Sanitizer on a key ring that is connected to her backpack. After school today she got in the car and used some of her hand sanitizer so she could eat her leftover snack that was in her backpack. It was really funny when she asked Emma if she wanted to use it. She said, "Emma, do you want to use my Hannahmatizer?" She combined Hannah Montana with Hand Sanitizer and hannahmatizer came out!

Tonight she and Emma were talking about their first night of Awana. Neither one of them can remember the name Awana, so in our house, they refer to it as Iguana!

Hannah got her first sad note home today. She has always been the sweet, quiet, well-behaved child in school. Last year when she had to loose a rubber band for talking, she cried. Well, this year she has moved her behavior stick 3-4 times already for talking. I'm not sure what is going on. I don't see her teacher as being overly strict, but for some reason my sweet little Hannah keeps getting in trouble for talking. She even got a note home today that I had to sign and return regarding her "excessive talking." I almost don't believe it! She is very obedient (at least to teachers and others in authority..not always to me and Joe!) I hope she improves. I don't want her to think of herself as a student that is always getting into trouble. She is a good girl. She just loves to talk!

So, Emma comes home from preschool today declaring to Joe and I that Aiden came back to school today. She said he had been out a few days and he had finally returned. I asked if he had been sick. She said she wasn't sure, but he did have gross green snot hanging out his nose that she had to look at! She said he sits beside her and it almost fell on her jeans! I would have died! I think kids with runny noses are gross. I'm sorry, but I'm really disgusted by that! So, poor Emma had to sit beside and look at gross green snot! I'm glad I wasn't there!

By the way, Emma has come out of her retirement from dance. She made a come back last week and has gone two weeks in a row. She declared to Joe and I today that she doesn't like dance, but she's not quitting. I'm not sure of her reasoning, but I think the recital is playing into it and I think deep down she likes it, she just doesn't like the responsibility/commitment of having to go every week to practice. It's hard to leave her Barbies and go to dance class. She wants to continue whatever she's involved in at the moment and she doesn't want to stop and go dance, but none the less, two weeks in a row, she has gone and come back saying it was fun!

I'm glad it's almost the weekend. I'm tired. It gets tiring getting everyone ready for school; ironing clothes, packing lunches, snacks, water bottles, remembering show and tell day, doing homework, going to dance, going to Awana, I can't imagine what it will be like in a few years when they are really involved and have lots of work and responsibilities!
