Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord of Hosts" Zechariah 4.6

I know I wrote earlier that I didn't have time to post tonight because I'm working overtime tonight..... but I felt like I had to post about how amazing our God has been to me this week. Joe and I have been brooding over our budget this week trying to see where we can cut corners to help cover his gas bill and our increased mortgage. As most of you know, Joe commutes one hour each way to work in Charlotte each day, and his gas bill is averaging over $600.00 a month right now. (His company does not have a car allowance like his last company did, so it is out of our pocket.) So, we are looking at alternatives for saving money, which include him staying over in Charlotte one night a week, or trying to get permission to work from home one one day a week, to help cut his travel. We are also having to pay $350.00 a month more on our mortgage this year because we were annexed into the city last year and we are paying higher city taxes for part of last year and this year. Long story short, we needed a miracle to be able to put gas in his car for the rest of the month! With my gas and his we are looking at about $750.00 a month (That makes me nauseous just writing that! I could be saving for my children's college fund in a big way with that money!) Anyway, as we budgeted and prayed, God did some amazing things. I have been working on a fairly large order that is going to generate some money when I get paid. You see, most school systems that place large orders usually place the order on a purchase order. This means, they send the order, I fill the order up front with my own money, ship it and then wait sometimes over a month to get paid for my work. So, I'm plodding away on a large PO trying to finish it up and get it out the door so I can be paid. I also have a small PO on my desk and a handful of other small orders. Well, all of those orders are blessings...SUPER BIG BLESSINGS...but they aren't meeting today's need....so this week, I've still praying for that miracle because getting paid for a purchase order at the end of June isn't exactly going to put gas in Joe's car in May. Well, Zechariah 4:6 says it all, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit saith the Lord of Hosts" You see, today while I worked, I was praying for a nice size order to come in and pay with their credit card or PayPal, so I would have the money in my checking account in 2-3 days. Now granted, I was praying, Lord please send us $100.00 or $200.00 in orders today so we can have gas money for next week.

The Lord must have been smiling (or laughing) at me. You see, He had something up His sleeve and I wonder what He thinks about or how He feels when He is about to do something AMAZING in someone's life. He knew before I started praying for a measly $100.00 that in Alaska, there was a school district about to place an order that ranks 2nd to the largest order I've ever received from one school. He knew that somewhere miles and miles away, someone was sitting at a desk, online, entering in an order at AT MY LITTLE OLE' WEBSITE AND that they would do what most schools NEVER EVER do when placing such large orders...they would pay with their credit card, so that I would have the money up front and not have to wait to be paid. I don't usually like to publicize order amounts because I in no way want to brag or say, "look at me and this business I've built." But, tonight I just feel like God needs a big "Yippee Ki Yah, Praise You, You're the Best, Look at what YOU can do, You're the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, You are bigger than we think and Mightier than we can imagine and you are involved in our every day lives, which absolutely humbles and amazes me" Sometimes it is hard to see God working in your life. You might feel powerless, or helpless, but know He is always there, even if He is working behind the scenes and you can't see it, because when He brings His work into the light where we can see it, it is always amazing and more than we can ask for. So tonight, I'm praising God for the $4100.00 order He sent my way today, from a small school in Aniak Alaska. For through them, God evidenced Himself to me and I thank Him for it.

God is good. I am praying for each of you to experience Him this week as I have had and that you too can bless His precious name, for it is not by our might or by our power, but by His spirit.
