Emma's Field Trip and Hannah's Favorite Things

The kit is Colors of Spring found at scrapbookbytes.com. The blue tags are recolored and from Shabby Princess' Harvest Spice kit.

I finally finished Hannah's Favorite Things Page. She is so predictable. I could have created this list for her, without asking her. She is such a first born...very methodical, very predictable, very routine in her lifestyle. I love her! She's just like me (and Joe, another first born!) Emma is just like her Aunt Catherine and Aunt Krissy...very free spirited and definitely a second born!

Emma and I went on her preschool field trip on Friday. Her preschool is within walking distance from our house at a local church. In fact, the field trip was right across the street from our house. I left my camera battery on the charger at home so I walked home at the beginning of the field trip to retrieve it! We went to one of the church member's homes where they have some small animals (rabbits, 2 goats and some chickens.) They have a lovely farm with picnic benches and swings for the children. They are members of the church and they have the annual church Easter egg hunt on their farm. It was sad to find out that when the state puts in the new highway it will cut through their farm and they are having to move. The state is not buying their land for the price that it would cost them to buy 20 acres somewhere else so they are very disappointed. They are an older couple and it looks as if they might have lived there most of their lives.

When we arrived at the farm the kids got to feed the goats and chickens. We then did sidewalk chalk on the driveway and played on the swings. They had a traditional swing set with two swings and then a large tree swing that swung from the branches of an old beautiful tree. It was really retro! The kids then did relay races. It was hysterical! Mrs. Christy explained how they would work since most children had never done relay races. She lined up the two teams after giving instructions and said "GO!" All ten children raced to the finish! They had no clue that only one of them was supposed to run first. It shows you that 3 and 4 year olds need modeling on how to do things...they don't comprehend a lot by just listening to the directions!!

After we did our relay races, we picniced on the picnic tables and then the children had freeplay where they could feed the goats, swing, draw or run around! It was a beautiful day. I wish the farm had not been as shaded as it was. It was hard to get good pictures from all of the shadows. I really need to take a basic photography class so I can learn how to use this fancy camera!

Here are some pictures from the trip. I took so many that I decided to make a collage of some of them so you could see more at one time. I have no idea what I'm doing trying to make these collages. They are not symmetrical and overall, not good! But, I'm tired of messing with it, so here they are for now!
I am chaperoning Hannah's Field Trip to the Lazy Five Ranch on Tuesday, so we'll have more animals pictures next week too! Yippee!

Jen you can make collages in Picasa (free program) so quick and easy. This is also a website http://bighugelabs.com/flickr/ that you can make cool collages in and it's so easy.
