Our One Inch Snow Storm

We woke up to about 1 inch of snow today and school was cancelled. The girls have never had as much fun in the snow as they did today. I made them wait to go outside until the neighbor kids got outside. (They would have been out there at 6:30 if I let them!) They got the sleds out of the attic and they had a blast all morning sledding down the neighbors' driveways. They couldn't go very fast because there wasn't much snow but it didn't stop them. They went up and down a million times. I made hot chocolate for all 10 neighborhood kids twice this morning. The girls came in half way through the morning and we changed their jeans and gloves to keep them warm. Surprisingly, their tights underneath their jeans were still dry. They stayed pretty dry all morning, so I didn't worry about them freezing from wet clothes. They came in at lunch time and had tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches with milk. They love this meal, because they like to dip their sandwich in their soup. Yum! They are now dry and warm and dancing to Kids Praise music in their room. I don't know how they have the energy to dance around after climbing up and down the hills all morning sledding.

I am about the tackle the Barbie village that is surrounding me in the playroom. They have every Barbie, accessory, piece of furniture, animal, pool etc. out and the entire playroom is covered. Some of it has to go! I can't even walk without stumbling over something and I can't get to Snow White's cage and I'm sure she's dying to get out and stretch her legs and hop around for a little bit. I think the roads are drying up so hopefully they'll be at school tomorrow so I can get some housework done. Days like this are exhausting. Dressing everyone, undressing everyone, doing laundry to wash their wet clothes, fixing hot chocolate twice, playing outside with them, fixing lunch and then doing more laundry. I'm glad we don't live somewhere where it snows all the time. I couldn't stand doing all of that laundry every time they played outside! I haven't gotten anything done today!
