Snow Storm 2009

I can’t remember a time since we’ve had children that it has snowed BEFORE Christmas.  Last Friday, on the girls’ last day before Christmas break, they were dismissed two hours early.  The snow began at lunchtime and it was beautiful.  The news said we got 7 inches in our area but Joe thinks it was more like 5 or 6.  The girls have played every day.  Papa gave Hannah a new sled for Christmas.  He gave it to her early so she could play with it this week.  The girls even went sledding today on a shaded hill nearby where the snow hasn’t completely melted.  This is the largest snowfall the girls remember and it has stayed on the ground longer than any snowfall they’ve had.   You couldn’t ask for a more perfect start for the Christmas break:  Snow, a new sled and no school!  Carter even got to go for a sled ride on Monday.  The snow was beginning to melt, but since he has been sick we waited until Monday when it was at least 40 degrees outside before we took him out in it.  HE LOVED HIS LITTLE RED SLED!  He laughed and giggled the whole time, even though I never caught a good picture of him smiling!

I love the pictures! It snowed a little here today, but it's been warm so it didn't stick. Cute pictures!
