Santa Mouse has been visiting our house this week. When he first showed up, he was eating the girls’ Christmas cookies and he wrote them a note telling them how yummy they were. He stated in his letter that he would come back each day before Christmas with something fun to do. He came the next day with a felt mouse craft for the girls’ to make their own Santa Mouse. He also brought a Santa Mouse book like the one on the far right. It has blank paper inside where the girls write about all the funny things Santa Mouse does. Next, he brought a CSI (Christmas Scene Investigator) Mouse and clue book. The clue book helps them look for signs that reindeer, elves and Santa have been near by. The next day he brought some cheese to the nativity scene and laid it down as an offering for baby Jesus. On Monday he showed up with his apron on with a recipe and wooden spoon, ready to make our favorite Christmas cookie, YoYo’s. Today he showed up in our Christmas tree with a Santa Mouse ornament that he wanted to hang on the tree. Tomorrow, if I can get my act together, he will bring a birthday cake for Jesus. He also has a collection of his own Christmas Mouse stories that we enjoy reading. Some include:

Merry Christmas, Mouse! (If You Give...) by Laura Numeroff | 39. The Tale of the Christmas Mouse by Judith Fringuello |
