Mountain Trip

We had the best time spending the day in Boone with Beth and Catherine. Catherine had the best idea: take Beth back to college and have a girls' day hanging out in the beautiful NC mountains while the boys went to the Nascar race (gross!). So, Catherine packed a yummy picnic for us and after the early service at church we headed to Boone. We visited The Mast General Store for our sugar fix for the month! They have old timey candies in the huge barrels and you pay by the pound. I told the girls they can't go trick or treating now because they have a bowl of candy already! After our candy store visit, we headed to the Blowing Rock park and sat on blankets in the sun and watched the kids play on the playground. We ate a fantastic picnic lunch, window shopped downtown in Blowing Rock and visited Beth's cute apartment. On our way home we visited a local produce stand and bought some fresh apple cider and mountain apples. It was a perfect day. Perfect fall weather,yummy coffee, the fellowship of sweet family, throw some candy in the mix and you have a day full of SWEET memories! Thanks girls. It was a day my girls will remember for a long time.

Now, forgive me for my terrible mountain pictures which contain not one, not two, but ZERO pictures of actual mountains! I barely touched my camera because I was too busy simply enjoying the day and being with my family.
