The girls started first and third grade this year and as always, they didn’t want to go back to school. They did very well getting back into the routine of things. Emma had a few sad mornings, but got over it pretty quickly and started loving 1st grade. They have fantastic teachers and they are both making straight A’s. We are so proud!
The night before school they modeled their new uniforms and ended summer with some sparklers and noise makers!
Outside of the building on the first day of school. Hannah looks anxious. Bless her heart. The night before school started we were saying our prayers and she said, “Mama, please pray that I don’t cry when you leave. I don’t want to be the only 3rd grader that cries because she misses her mom.” I get choked up writing that! I love her so much and she has such a tender heart!
At her big girl desk on the first day of first grade. Beautiful big girl! She loves learning and she does such beautiful work. She is very different from Hannah. She is just as bright as Hannah but she takes pride in neat work and is very careful to not make mistakes. Hannah is super bright, flies through her work, doesn’t care AT ALL about neatness and when she does make a mistake it is usually something careless she missed because of hurrying! They are both so very different and so very much alike!
Hannah is doing such a fantastic job in 3rd grade. She is making straight A’s and on her end of quarter test she scored a 92 on both math and reading. I went to a meeting last night in her classroom and I was able to see her test. She probably could have made a 100 on math if she had checked over her work. She missed three problems out of 50 and they were simple addition facts she answered incorrectly. We are working on slowing down and taking our time on our work. She is every teacher’s dream student. Bright, quick to learn and so well-behaved. We just have to work on the neat factor!
This wild man started preschool this year and he goes two mornings a week. He cries every day when I leave him, but he loves it. He is quiet before I get out the door at the end of the hall. He just likes to be a little dramatic! He is such a little lover. He hugs and kisses all the children in his class. He is so cuddly and lovable but he’s a lot taller than they are and he’s very clumsy. So every time he hugs and kisses someone, he usually tackles them to the floor and they cry! God bless him for trying! He just wants to hug and kiss everyone!
When he gets sad, nervous or sleepy, he sucks his thumb. This was on the first day of school! He was in heaven with all the trucks!
